WE DID IT!!!

For me, Race for Life 2002 was where it all started and here I am, 12 months on, having completed my second Race for Life!
This year I enjoyed the company of my friend Maggie (left)
and my sister Anne (right) as well as the special Race for Life Decade
who has gone (with his medal!) to a new owner after the sponsors' names
were put into a draw to win this special 10 Year Anniversary Beanie chosen to commemorate the 10 Year Anniversary of Race for Life.

"Cancer Research UK's Race for Life started with just 600 women taking part in Battersea Park in 1994. From these humble beginnings it has grown to become Cancer Research UK's biggest fundraising event. Since 1994 we have welcomed 590,000 women to 380 events across the UK - raising a massive £35 million for Cancer Research UK! Every penny of the money you raise in sponsorship goes directly to Cancer Research UK, to help us find new ways to treat, prevent and cure cancer.

So, this was the deal, for every £2 of sponsorship I received, I entered sponsors into a draw for this Decade Beanie.

Why Decade?  Well this year is the 10th Anniversary of Race for Life so it seemed the most appropriate bear to use. 
However, to make Decade extra special, he came wearing a unique, never to be repeated, sweater in the Race for Life colours.
Of course, he was also sporting a
'CHERISH Collect for Life 2003' limited edition tag
